Fast digitisers reduce examination times at Dorset

At The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are radiographer Samantha Guyatt, superintendent radiographer James Knowles and Agfa HealthCare territory sales manager Ges Shilvock.

Agfa HealthCare customers for more than 25 years, the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals have now installed five DX-G digitisers and a compact CR 30-X tabletop digitiser for use in the main radiology department.

Superintendent radiographer James Knowles said: “The DX-G digitisers are significantly faster than the previous systems.  This has led to a reduction in patient examination times and more efficient use of our radiographers’ time.  The image quality of the needle phosphor plate and the range of available sizes means that examinations that are technically difficult on immobile patients using a full size digital detector are easily imaged using small cassettes – but with virtually no loss of image quality.”
