Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend has installed an AlluraClarity FD10 cath lab from Philips UKI as part of the South Wales cardiology network renewal programme. Said to offer versatile automatic positioning movements and exceptional image quality for coronary angiography, the images support informed decisions during cardiac and cardiovascular procedures.
Superintendent radiographer Martine Evans said: “We anticipate that the quality of our procedures will be enhanced with the new AlluraClarity. The FlexVision XL provides access to different screens at the same time, so that we have more information to hand. Also, the lab seems more spacious, which allows better access for pacemaker operations.
“We have the possibility of expanding our services in the future to include complicated devices or stenting, as this equipment allows us to future-proof our capabilities.”
