Hull Royal Infirmary is installing an Agfa Valory DR room in a refurbished area of an existing building, where space was a consideration. With its smaller tube head, wall stand and pedestal table, the Valory system provided a solution for the space.
With radiology departments under pressure to enhance efficiency while meeting budget requirements, Agfa says the Valory DR room provides value by balancing reliability and productivity in a modern, modular and easy-to-use design, in addition to consistent Musica image quality.
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust speciality manager for general and fluoroscopy radiology Ann McFadyen said: “The ceiling mounted Agfa Valory was the kit of choice for the team at Hull Royal Infirmary for a new x-ray room urgent treatment centre for a number of reasons. Already having the Agfa DR 600 x-ray equipment installed in three of our main rooms meant there was familiarity for the staff with the NX and Musica platform and a confidence with the reliability and durability of the kit. Along with this is the continuation of the great image quality and dose reduction we expect from Agfa.
“The Valory system offered the versatility of a ‘grab and go’ way of working, with fast and easy tube movements and the added bonus of auto tracking and auto centring, ideal for this particular group of ambulatory patients.”
McFadyen added that the locally-based engineering team, available to provide routine maintenance and troubleshooting for fast problem solving, was another positive aspect.
