Asteral appointed by Hillingdon

Celebrating a maintenance agreement at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are Asteral divisional general manager maintenance and service Darren Woolley, trust service manager Sue Jones and Asteral’s Hillingdon biomedical engineering manager Raj Bhalla.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed vendor independent provider of medical equipment services Asteral  to manage and maintain its existing equipment portfolio and provide guidance on future capital purchases.

The three-year contract, with an option to extend for a further two, covers the maintenance of more than 4,500 assets throughout the hospital, including radiology, electro-biomedical engineering and theatre equipment.  Asteral will also join the medical equipment panel to advise the trust on future equipment specification, selection and procurement.

Sue Jones, trust service manager, said: “Asteral has ensured that the transition process has run smoothly.  A considerable amount of time and effort has gone into making us feel part of the team and we look forward to working with Asteral.” See the full report on page 26 of the March 2012 issue of RAD Magazine.
