Baines brings together radiotherapy focus group

AXREM, the UK trade association representing suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment, has an active radiotherapy special focus group and represents most radiotherapy companies. It has appointed Elekta country manager UK and Ireland Dan Baines as convenor.

“I believe the demands on healthcare providers and companies have never been greater at any point in modern history; budgets, staff shortages, supply chain issues and the challenges of achieving sustainability are stretching all involved, at each touchpoint in the care pathway,” said Baines. “I will listen to and work with members, I’ll bring my network and experiences to consolidate the group to see what we can do for radiotherapy, but also what we can do as an industry to do things differently in this fast changing marketplace.”

Baines has been involved in the medical healthcare industry for 24 years. He entered the field of pharmaceuticals and, after building experience in the therapy areas of cardiology, diabetology and diagnostics, migrated towards oncology.
