Bolton celebrates successful first year of MES

The radiology department at Royal Bolton Hospital is said to have enjoyed improved equipment uptime, clear financial planning and partnership working during the first year of a managed equipment service (MES) agreement with Siemens Healthcare.  The 15-year contract has seen operational benefits and swift equipment replacement of multiple ultrasound systems, general digital x-ray rooms, mobile x-ray systems and the upgrading of a fluoroscopy suite.

“The partnership has taken a huge element of worry out of running the department, as it has streamlined efficiency by giving us one point of contact for all equipment concerns,” said Catherine Walsh, radiology services manager at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
