In June, PACSHealth met with friends, colleagues and customers at UKIO 2025 at Liverpool ACC.

While investigating the exhibition stands in order to learn about the latest leading-edge technologies and discussing the pain points with end users, the company says it noticed enthusiasm and optimism in the industry is high as end users remain committed to high quality delivery in healthcare and finding innovative solutions.

“The current challenges in the NHS – not least the financial pressures – were a hot topic and demonstrated the need for cost reduction capabilities, while simultaneously improving data quality and management,” said PACSHealth.

Whether enabling staff to operate more effectively by maintaining a better workload balance, reducing overheads in data storage space and energy use or providing quality metrics to improve dose management, common issues were highlighted across the healthcare environment. “Understanding data quality
across any enterprise is now increasingly recognised as key to effective management for both current and future status,” the company commented.

Conversations took place around enterprise-wide software solutions such as VNAHealth that compares the study, series and patient demographic information in the DICOM Study Instance UID across a user-specified number of connected sources and destinations, noting whether the metadata for copied or moved studies are different at either location. “This assists future planning and carbon reduction by improved retention policies, as well as data management understanding by identifying multiple copies and storage requirements,” the company said.
