Digital dental units ease pressure

The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, part of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has installed two Instrumentarium OC200D OPG digital dental systems and two Vistascan Perio Intra Oral digital x-ray imaging plate scanners.

The systems were supplied and installed by Med Imaging Limited which is the only UK agency for Instrumentarium Dental systems and Durr dental products.

The Sheffield systems are reported to be dramatically increasing patient throughput.  An ageing Planmeca unit and an analogue OPG system are replaced with two Instrumentarium OC200D with SmartPad digital OPGs with cephalostat; in addition the dental hospital has converted its existing intra oral x-ray units to digital with two Durr Perio intra oral digital x-ray imaging plate scanner systems.
