East Lancashire trust is first to install Agfa Valory DR room

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has chosen Agfa’s ceiling-suspended Valory semi-automated digital radiography room for its community diagnostic centre, located at the Rossendale Primary Health Care Centre. In addition to its two main acute sites in Blackburn and Burnley, the trust has three community hospitals and several community health centres.

This is the first healthcare organisation in the UK to install the Valory room. It was selected because it met the centre’s need for a semi-automated x-ray room. Agfa says Valory combines simplicity, ease of use and cost effectiveness, with high image quality and low radiation dose.

“The new Valory DR room will be pivotal in helping us provide consistent, personal and effective care for our communities,” said director of LSC Diagnostics Collaborative Jack Smith.

As with all of Agfa’s DR systems, Valory is powered by Musica. The Musica Imaging Workstation enhances workflow and productivity, with a single, intuitive interface for efficient DR imaging. Dura-line caesium iodide detectors offer robust reliability, cost effectiveness and excellent battery autonomy. Near-field communication technology allows the Dura-line detectors to be shared between different modalities.
