Eleva upgrade for Derriford

Philips central and west district general manager Rob Davies with senior radiographer Luke Popplestone, GI superintendent radiographer Phil Dowle, senior radiographer  Sarah-Jayne Matthews, Philips key account manager Jane Robinson, superintendent radiographer Ann Pinder and radiology services manager Steve Blake.

Derriford Hospital in Plymouth has installed a Philips MultiDiagnost Eleva FD system with remote controlled C-arm.

The Eleva FD has features to cover a broad area of applications, including gastrointestinal and vascular diagnosis and interventions, orthopaedics, urology and trauma.  Examination and patient-related pre-sets can be programmed to users’ preferences.

Radiology services manager Steve Blake commented: “We selected Philips for its user-friendliness and versatility.  We have been able to reorganise our work patterns and find, for instance, that we are now doing a lot of interventional MSK work on the new system that previously would have been carried out in a vascular room.

“This has been very useful in freeing up capacity on the vascular system.”
