Toshiba Medical Systems has secured an order from the Lothian Health Region to supply 11 of the company’s premium ultrasound systems.

 

The Aplio XGs, have now been installed into five different sites within the region, including Roodlands Hospital, Leith Community Treatment Centre, Chalmers Hospital, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and St John’s Hospital in Livingston.

 

The Aplio XG is backed by new software packages include MicroPure to aid the identification of micro-calcifications, a potential marker for malignancy in breast tumours, and ElastoQ that assists in quantifying palpation of breast masses by providing a numerical indicator for malignancy.
