St Anthony’s Hospital in North Cheam has a history dating back to 1904 when it was founded by the congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Cross.  The present building is the fourth on the site.

St Anthony’s joined the Spire Group in 2014 and is a major provider for cardiac, thoracic and orthopaedic surgery, along with many other specialities, through its advanced critical care services.  The hospital has invested in a Hologic Selenia 2D Dimensions mammography system for its breast imaging examinations, moving its mammography service from CR to digital.  Consultant breast radiologist Dr Mamatha Reddy said: “The move from CR to digital was a necessary transition.  We offer a number of one-stop clinics which are likely to increase in frequency and we have future plans to introduce stereotactic biopsy on-site.”
