HRH The Duke of Cambridge revisits Royal Marsden

HRH The Duke of Cambridge with The Royal Marsden and The Institute of Cancer Research joint head of physics Professor Uwe Oelfke, consultant clinical oncologist Dr Alison Tree and radiographers Helen McNair and Trina Herbert.

HRH The Duke of Cambridge celebrated his 10th anniversary as President of The Royal Marsden with another visit to the hospital.

The Duke spent the morning at the Sutton hospital where he looked around the world-leading radiotherapy department and Oak Centre for Children and Young People.  He visited the UK’s first MR-linac, on which patients are due to be treated later this year, initially through clinical studies in hard-to-treat cancer types.

Consultant clinical oncologist Dr Alison Tree, Professor Uwe Oelfke, joint head of physics at The Royal Marsden and The Institute of Cancer Research and Dr Simeon Nill, head of translational radiotherapy physics at The Royal Marsden and ICR, showed The Duke how the machine will benefit patients.
