Improving patient pathways and outcomes

When a community diagnostic centre rented not one but two rental solutions for their facility.

Some time ago, AGITO Medical delivered a CT relocatable rental unit to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in the United Kingdom.

AGITO delivered one of its brand-new units featuring a state-of-the-art Aquilion Prime SP 160 slice system. This rental was set to run for 12 months and is a part of a community diagnostic centre funding project to support the trust with additional scanning capacity.

This rental project has since expanded and only three months into the CT rental contract, AGITO delivered yet another rental unit to the site – this time, it delivered one of its new MRI rental units featuring a Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5T for a 12-month contract.

While speaking with Richard Fairie, lead cross-sectional radiographer he said: “AGITO Medical provided Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust with a new state-of-the-art Aquilion Prime SP 160 slice system, and a new Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI on a 12-month contract.  Set-up was quick and efficient, and we were able to start seeing large volumes of patients very quickly.  The team at AGITO have been great to work with and have always looked to work collaboratively with us to improve patient pathways and outcomes!”

AGITO knows that running a clinic or hospital involves managing temporary changes in patient flow and dealing with unforeseen circumstances in a fast and efficient manner. Choosing a mobile imaging rental solution offers a high level of flexibility, since these units can be placed almost anywhere, depending on the customers’ requirements and wishes. In this case, the units are on a remote site close to the hospital, running on an external generator.

About AGITO Medical and our rental journey

AGITO Medical was founded in Aalborg, Denmark, in 2004 with a mission to provide customers in the healthcare industry with cost-efficient imaging equipment and spare parts. As the demand for pre-owned equipment grew and we gained more experience, knowledge and expertise, our organization expanded to also include facilities in Spain, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

In continuation of its growth, AGITO was acquired by Philips in 2018. This gave the company the momentum and opportunity to grow the business and expand the imaging rental solutions department. The rental solutions journey began with just a few units and has since grown to a fleet count of 60 units – this has resulted in more than 380 rental projects 15 countries so far. AGITO now consists of more than 50 experienced and skilled employees, located in Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
