We have an exciting opportunity to join our service in the role of head radiographer. Applications are welcomed from candidates holding either the Diploma of The College of Radiographers or an equivalent degree, or a veterinary nurse qualification with significant experience working as a head radiographer in a veterinary setting. The position is available from January 1, 2022 or as soon as possible after that date.
You will be responsible for managing the facilities and the radiography team within the diagnostic imaging service for the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital. You should have experience of carrying out radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations of all species in the radiography department, equine theatre and small animal theatre or possess directly translatable skills to achieve this goal. Training in the use of other imaging modalities would be an advantage. You will have responsibility for teaching students in theoretical and practical aspects of radiography and training residents in the use of radiographic equipment. You will need excellent communication skills in relation to practical instruction of students and contact with clients and veterinarians. Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
