We’re seeking a PACS principal radiographer who’ll have expert knowledge and opinion within the field of PACS and radiology information systems.

You’ll act as an autonomous practitioner to provide strong clinical leadership and apply a high degree of professional autonomy in the decision-making process of strategic development of service delivery using innovative solutions to improve patient care and pathways within the region.

Main duties of the job:

  • Deliver specialist level decision making in autonomous clinical practice and provide expert professional advice to other professionals, multi-disciplinary groups.
  • To play a key role as part of the PACS /RIS project team in the development of business cases.
  • To play a key role in planning and supervising the implementation of the systems across all departments and all hospital sites.
  • Be accountable for efficient service delivery in the clinical environment in relation to PACS/RIS and for ensuring that procedures and processes are in place to ensure images and reports are available to support the continuity of patient care at all times.
  • To assist in the responsibilities for the imaging associated with the continuity of patient care from referring DGHs and the wider health care community.
  • To work as a key member of the team to ensure the trust realises all the benefits associated with maintaining and improving the existing and future technologies.
  • To ensure an effective 24/7 support mechanism for all users throughout the Trust: including transfer of images and between DGHs and the wider health care community.
  • To ensure ongoing effective service delivery by anticipating and responding to evolving clinical service needs.
