ROC Healthcare and Private Clinic
Do you have a desire to move to a new city? There may never be a better time to make that change than now .... why not try Aberdeenshire, Scotland…? We have an exciting opportunity for a senior radiographer and radiation protection supervisor to join a newly developed state-of-the-art imaging department, with the highest specification equipment on the market, and the opportunity to deliver private healthcare at its best in the heart of majestic Scotland on the outskirts of Aberdeen – also home of the Aberdeen Angus and the stunning scenery of Royal Deeside!
The space and equipment have been developed/installed within the last six months. We currently have x-ray and digital mammography systems installed with plans in place to install a 3.0T MRI scanner later in the year.
In this role you will be vital in the development and future expansion of the radiology services. You will be expected to have a good understanding of work practices within a radiology department, and work to standardise protocols and practices. You will be a key player in the quality standards for imaging council, HSE and Health Improvement Scotland, attaining and maintaining standards for annual accreditation and inspection. You will work closely with the leaders of other business units to ensure the effective integration of strategic objectives, performance management, quality, improvement and technological performance. You will operate within state-of-the-art facilities, with the first Siemens x-ray unit of this kind installed in the UK and the only 3D mammography system.
Within our scope is to develop further day case/inpatient facilities (during 2021-23) with further CT and x-ray modalities. The imaging department has been developed in conjunction with Siemens, and the local NHS RPAs are contracted for the provision of full support services.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and patient driven with an in-depth understanding of clinical, technical and managerial aspects of a radiology department. Experience and passion in leading and developing a team to its full potential would be advantageous as you will be a ‘people manager’. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite; you will be expected to manage your time carefully and able to prioritise conflicting demands while working with a wide range of stakeholders to provide an efficient service which meets the needs of our patients.
You will have a DCR(R) or BSc in Radiography and have Radiation Protection Training and be HCPC registered. You will be an experienced radiographer competent in x-ray, preferably within a previous role as a radiation protection supervisor and you must have a good understanding and experience in RIS and PACS systems.
