MRI scanner for Blackpool’s primary care centre

The recently-opened Whitegate Health Centre, Blackpool’s first primary care facility for 8am-8pm, seven days a week family doctor services, has installed a Magnetom Avanto 1.5 Tesla MRI from Siemens Healthcare. 

It is one of a few MRI scanners in England to be housed in a primary care centre for musculoskeletal and neurological work.  It will broaden the range of imaging cases undertaken in the local community, helping to alleviate the workload at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
