New centre opens in Salford

From left to right inside the mobile x-ray unit are consultant physiotherapist Victoria Dickens, Salford PCT, InHealth business development manager Fiona Lane, stand-in administrator Marion Owen and InHealth superintendent radiographer Elaine Hamnett.

The new Walkden Gateway complex in Manchester, is a collaborative partnership between Salford Primary Care Trust, Salford City Council and MaST LIFT Company.

It provides a range of disciplines, including health and social care services, GP surgeries, therapeutic services, as well as community group facilities, a library and an advice service.

Audiology, dentistry and midwifery, through to orthoptics, paediatrics and physiotherapy are also provided.

InHealth has been providing the mobile x-ray service to Salford PCT on two full days per week, which has cut travelling times for patients.

A full report will be published on page 5 of the February 2009 issue of RAD Magazine.
