Radiographers at Dorset County Hospital share a variety of dishes for international cuisine event

Dorset County Hospital radiology department in Dorchester has employed several overseas radiographers over the last few years and decided to host an international cuisine evening in order to share their regional dishes. Lead interventional/fluoro senior radiographer, diagnostic imaging, Jeanette Bartlett explained: “We thought it would be a great idea if we tried some local dishes as they always look and smell fantastic. It was therefore decided that an evening should be arranged to allow everyone to sample the dishes.”

A local venue was booked and radiographers from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Nigeria, Portugal and England all cooked dishes for staff to try. “The evening was attended by 30 members of staff and the food was absolutely amazing,” continued Bartlett. “The atmosphere was great, we had games and music and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was a great way to spend an evening: great company, excellent food and lots of laughter. It was such a success we will be organising another one very soon and we hope to encourage more colleagues to attend, and maybe cook.”
