Southend’s Spire scanner arrives in a container

Radiology imaging manager David Fowler with hospital director Jo Dean.

The Spire Wellesley Hospital has installed a static MRI scanner to replace a visiting mobile MRI service.

The 1.5T Toshiba Excelart XGV is housed in a transportable container constructed around the magnet at the Smit factory in the Netherlands.

The Excelart Vantage XGV combines an ultra-short bore with adjustable lighting and ventilation through the bore to give a greater feeling of openness for the patient.  Pianissimo technology reduces acoustic noise.
