St Mary’s x-ray installation goes ahead as planned

At St Mary’s Hospital are superintendent radiographer Amanda Shaw, consultant radiologist Dr Peter Close, radiographer practitioner Laura Thompson, consultant radiologist Dr Stephan Voigt with advanced radiographer practitioners Debbie Bienek and Tonya Riby.

St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight has purchased a Toshiba Ultimax-i multi-purpose x-ray system as replacement equipment for its fluoroscopy room.

The equipment was despatched from the Toshiba factory in Japan just seven days after the earthquake and tsunami, but the project remained on schedule and was completed in time.

Superintendent radiographer Amanda Shaw said: “A tight deadline due to failing equipment was a key factor when selecting the replacement fluoroscopy room.”
