UHW aims to make echocardiography easier

With Philips Healthcare cardiac ultrasound applications specialist Jo Harris (centre) are cardiac physiologists Amanda Jones, Sam Bowen, Sharon Hill and Lona Hanzell.

University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff has traded in two old machines for two Philips CX50 compact echocardiography systems.

Says Philips: “The main reason for the hospital selecting the CX50 scanners is to make echocardiography on the ward easier with its excellent image quality and increased portability.

“With the CX50, clear diagnostic data may be captured where definitive information is most critical – acute care units and at patient bedsides.   It can also support off-site clinics.”
