Following extensive evaluation, the CT department at Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust has purchased an Ulrich CT Motion contrast injector from Synapse Medical UK.  It was decided the CT Motion satisfied the stringent infection control requirements within the trust and met the current and future demands of the new CT department.

Radiology services manager Niamh McGuinness said: “The department has immediately benefitted from a significant reduction in costs associated with contrast enhanced CT examinations.  Using the CT Motion, a weight-related contrast dosing approach has been adopted, leading to savings in contrast used, and contrast waste being virtually eliminated, while maintaining image quality.  With CT technology advancing at the current pace it was important to us that the injector we selected was able to adapt to developments around reduction in CT radiation dose, which in turn allows us to fine-tune contrast dose given to patients.”
