North Wales bone unit installs advanced DXA scanner

The new scanner became operational in late March.  It is the most advanced of Hologic’s DXA systems with 216 detectors and featuring a full range of clinical applications such as high definition vertebral fracture assessment, atypical fracture assessment and advanced body composition with visceral fat assessment.

Dr Maclean said: “The unit is pleased to announce the installation of the latest state-of-the-art Hologic bone density scanner which will continue to service the whole of the North Wales population.”
