The Royal Marsden in Chelsea has been using an interim mobile PETCT solution provided by InHealth, to ensure an uninterrupted service while its own scanner was upgraded.

A longstanding partner to the NHS, InHealth has over 17 years’ experience delivering PETCT solutions.  Its partnership with The Royal Marsden utilised the latest Siemens technology in PETCT scanning, said to be the first of its kind on a mobile in Europe.

Trust consultant in nuclear medicine and professor of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging at The Institute of Cancer Research Professor Wim Oyen said: “We wanted to ensure that our PETCT service continued without disruption while our own scanner was being upgraded.  The InHealth team worked seamlessly with my team and provided a highly efficient service, delivered from the most comfortable environment imaginable on a mobile.  The images were of the highest quality and the scanner speed meant that we could easily scan up to 15 patients a day without approaching the scanner’s maximum capacity.”
