A week after completing a gruelling fun run, the Charlie’s SuperHero HellRunners team were almost fully recovered, reports Paula Veevers, diagnostic radiographer in general x-ray and CT at Royal Preston Hospital.  The team took part in support of colleague and friend Alan Howson who lost his nephew Charlie Jordan at 11 years of age to DiPG, highly aggressive tumours in the brain.

“The day was great; it was surreal and overwhelming to have such a well turned-out team, each dressed as a superhero,” she said.  Team members were all emotional to have completed their challenge.  Charlie’s mother Emma and grandfather Chris cheered the team on, along with others who weren’t able to run.

“The team of 111 runners really did pull together and we are extremely proud of the camaraderie displayed,” added Veevers.
