Laser patient positioning range added in the UK

Vertec Scientific is to distribute Cyrpa laser products in the UK. Established in 2010, Cyrpa is a wholly-owned subsidiary of C-RAD AB. Based in Brussels and Roissy, the company develops non-invasive lasers used for patient positioning in radiotherapy.
The laser systems are currently distributed around the world and more than 400 have been installed in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
Lasers in accelerator and scanner rooms are necessary tools for the alignment of patients relative to the isocentre of the machine. Cyrpa’s product range consists of lasers for virtual simulation and the treatment room. For motorised and moving lasers, Cyrpa offers double diode technology for better adaptation to each patient. Cyrpa HIT laser systems also include a range of alignment and calibration phantoms: the StaticPhantom, the SmartPhantom CT and the SmartPhantom RT. These allow automatic calibration of the lasers, with what is claimed to be the best accuracy (+/-0.1mm) in the market.
Vertec managing director Bill Hipgrave said: “Cyrpa is a natural fit into our portfolio of high technology products for the radiotherapy professional, so we are delighted to represent it in the UK.”
