Hand surgery team welcomes another mini C-arm to St George’s

The consultant-led hand unit at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Tooting, takes a patient-centred and multidisciplinary approach to helping people manage their hand and wrist problems.

Six plastic surgeon hand consultants and two orthopaedic hand consultants are supported by a nursing team including an advanced nurse practitioner, two nurse practitioners and three nurse specialists with a therapies team made up of a clinical specialist hand therapist, nine therapists and one therapy technician.

The unit has used Hologic Fluoroscan intraoperative mini x-ray C-arm systems supplied by Vertec Scientific for many years.

Pictured following the installation of the latest InSight system are Vertec Scientific engineer Stewart Needham, consultant plastic surgeon Mr Jamil Moledina, consultant orthopaedic surgeon Mr Magnus Arnander and Vertec product specialist Keith Lakin.
