Pearl Technology launches CT Table Cover in UK to set new standards in hygienic patient positioning

Pearl Technology recently launched CT Table Covers in the UK, helping CT departments meet highest hygiene standards in a simple and effective way even in times of a pandemic.

The CT Table Covers are protective sleeves made of hard-wearing PU foil and offer a simple and effective solution to keep the CT scanner clean and hygienic. The standard table mats are simply threaded into the dedicated pockets and are then attached to the CT table. Wide flaps at the side prevent liquids from spilling into the table by covering gaps between top and base. The durable PU foil is tear resistant and withstands common challenges in demanding CT environments, such as high patient throughput as well as heavy disinfection.

Hinchingbrooke Hospital adopted this new solution as one of the first sites in the UK on their GE Healthcare Optima CT scanners. CT lead radiographer Emily Taylor-Neale commented: “The CT Table Cover was very easy to fit, robust and withstands bleaching which is needed in a CT room. Having a smooth cover for the slide sheets helps with sliding patients. Even more importantly, it is a big help keeping the room clean and reducing cross contamination risks from patients.”

Given the explicit benefits of the CT Table Cover, leading manufacturers of CT scanners decided to include the CT Table Cover as a standard with every newly installed system.
