UHCW chooses GE ultrasound

Pictured following the handover of seven GE Healthcare Venue 50 and four Logiq e ultrasound systems to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust are GE applications specialist Laura Brereton and ultrasound sales specialist Jon Robinson with consultant anesthetist and equipment lead Dr Ravi Joshi.
Dr Joshi said: “Many of our patients are very difficult to cannulate due to thrombosis. The veins are in real danger of collapsing, which prevents the anaesthetic being delivered. In these instances the patient is sent to the cath lab, which is a poor experience for the patient as well as an extra expense for the trust. The 10-22MHz probe allows for greatly enhanced visualisation of the vessels and a much better chance of effective cannulation.”
