Valuable diagnostic information is available

East Lancashire PCT Musculoskeletal Service uses two MicroMaxx point-of-care ultrasound systems for diagnosis and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal injuries at its primary healthcare centres.  Educational lead Dr Tony Mitchell said: “I use the system for assessment and treatment of a wide range of non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions, and the ability to scan in the clinic provides valuable extra information for diagnosis.

“It is a useful diagnostic aid for suspected rotator cuff tears, identification of calcification and bursitis, and for Achilles and patella tendons.”
