AGFA HealthCare delivers imaging breakthrough at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

AGFA HealthCare is proud to announce the successful deployment of its Xero Viewer at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – marking a major advancement in acute care imaging technology.

The trust’s PACS (picture archiving and communication system) team has adopted AGFA’s secure, web-based imaging solution to enable rapid access to radiology images and reports across multiple NHS organisations. This innovation is already transforming patient pathways by streamlining diagnosis and clinical decision-making.

The real-time integration now connects York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals with Harrogate, Hull, and North Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG) hospitals, with expansion plans underway to include Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The PACS department has seen exponential growth in imaging data exchange, from 7,000 patient image report transfers per year a decade ago to a projected 40,000 by 2025. AGFA’s Xero solution is central to this transformation, offering seamless access to imaging data with minimal training requirements.
