Southfields Veterinary Specialists are seeking to recruit a full-time radiographer to join the diagnostic imaging department of our newly built, state-of-the-art specialist veterinary hospital in Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly advanced imaging environment, delivering exceptional diagnostic services with a particular focus on MRI, alongside acquisition of CT and radiography.

High-field Siemens Magnetom Sola MRI scanner (1.5 tesla)
Two X-ray rooms, including digital radiography and fluoroscopy
Mobile x-ray machine
Fluoroscopy c-arm for contrast studies and interventional procedures
Two dedicated ultrasound rooms
Portable ultrasound machine for critical patients
Video endoscopy suite
Cardiology room with Vivid E95 ultrasound machine
Imaging reading room
Dedicated patient preparation and recovery areas
You will work alongside a highly experienced and supportive imaging team comprising:
Three EBVS European specialists in veterinary diagnostic imaging
Two experienced diagnostic imaging clinicians
Four diagnostic imaging nurses
A diagnostic imaging patient care assistant
Key responsibilities
Acquisition of MRI, ct and radiographic studies
Day-to-day operation and care of advanced imaging equipment
Ensuring compliance with radiation protection and MRI health & safety regulations
Supporting maintenance and quality assurance of imaging machinery
Hands-on patient care, including patient positioning
Participation in out-of-hours imaging duties, as required
Working collaboratively with clinicians and wider hospital teams to support optimal patient care
What we’re looking for
A qualified radiographer with experience in mri and/or ct image acquisition
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach
A genuine love of animals and commitment to patient welfare
Willingness to get involved with all aspects of providing a high-quality imaging service — full support and training will be provided where required
