Medica discusses ways to help NHS imaging services through growing demand

RadVision South 2026 in London provided an opportunity for Medica to meet radiology leaders, clinicians and healthcare professionals from across the NHS to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping imaging services. The team welcomed delegates to discuss how flexible reporting capacity, subspecialist expertise and technology-enabled workflows can support radiology departments when demand exceeds available resources.
“We also had many valuable conversations about the evolving role of AI in radiology, with a shared recognition that, while AI has significant potential to enhance efficiency and support clinical decision making, high quality diagnostic reporting remains fundamentally human-led, underpinned by the expertise and judgement of experienced radiologists,” the company said.
Key themes discussed included the increasing demand for imaging, ongoing workforce pressures and the need to maintain timely access to diagnostic reporting while improving patient pathways. “We were particularly encouraged by the number of discussions focused on service resilience, turnaround times and the role of trusted partners in helping organisations respond to growing pressures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care,” Medica added.
