Second cath lab required at Worthing Hospital

News

At Worthing Hospital are specialist registrar cardiology Dr Rupert Williams, cath lab nurse Iwana Barbu, radiographer Andre Fontes, cath lab superintendent radiographer Isabel McGregor, consultant cardiologists Dr Rob Hatrick and Dr Mark Signy, cath lab nurses Vicki Brill, Lise Quesnel and Alison Richardson, recovery nurse Phatima Sandanam and consultant cardiologist Dr Suki Dhamrait.

Worthing Hospital, part of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, has acquired a Toshiba Infinix CF-i floor-mounted cardiac system, funded by Friends of Worthing Hospital charity.

Superintendent radiographer and RPS Isabel McGregor said: “For our second lab, we selected a floor-mounted Toshiba C-arm; we have been very pleased with our existing ceiling-mounted Toshiba unit and find it versatile and reliable.  We are particularly pleased with our consistently low radiation doses.  I received eager help from Toshiba with optimisation and, as a result, our average doses have been amongst the lowest in the area for several years.”
