Cannock upgrades as rheumatology facility expands

At Cannock Chase Hospital are consultant rheumatologist Dr Tom Sheeran, clinical nurse specialist rheumatology ultrasound Sue Matthews, consultant MSK radiographer Alison Hall and GE Healthcare ultrasound sales specialist Simon Dennison.
The musculoskeletal ultrasound unit at Cannock Chase Hospital has moved to a bigger site due to increased demand for its services and installed a GE Healthcare Logiq S8 ultrasound system.
Officially opened by deputy chairman of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Dennis Heywood, the rheumatology department’s facility has grown from one small scanning room to three clinical rooms, each with GE Healthcare ultrasound systems.
Consultant MSK sonographer Alison Hall said: “For our work, we have found that the Logiq S8 combines ease of use and ergonomic design with excellent resolution for small superficial joints of the hands and large, deeper joints such as the hip.”
