Bradford becomes a reference site for next generation CT

Consultant radiologist and divisional director for clinical support services Jonathan Barber and clinical services manager and head of profession Nigel Lewis.
One of the UK’s most respected centres for radiology, Bradford Royal Infirmary, has acquired a new generation Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT scanner for its multidisciplinary team. The installation of this updated technology makes the hospital a world reference centre for what is claimed to be the most advanced CT scanning equipment available today.
Bradford Royal Infirmary clinical services manager and head of profession Nigel Lewis said: “It’s an unusual situation in that we were acquiring the world’s first new generation Aquilion Prime CT scanner.
“What really caught our attention was its smaller footprint, combined with its large diameter bore, which enhances the patient’s experience and reduces the feelings of claustrophobia. Additionally, the applications packages, such as InstaView and Hybrid View with high resolution and fast reconstruction, can be easily integrated with our protocols and workflows.”
