Musgrove Park Hospital, part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, has completed the penultimate stage of phase one development of its new surgical centre, with completion of the next stage scheduled for the end of the year.

While building works were taking place, radiology staff were evaluating direct digital mobile x-ray systems, before awarding the contract to Xograph Healthcare for its MobileDaRt Evolution Wireless.

Specialist radiographer Adam Turner said: “The equipment will provide mobile imaging with near instantaneous image review in the new surgical building.  Viewing the image immediately will significantly reduce delays if an additional image is required.  The facility to share detectors provides a potentially cost-effective way to expand our portable fleet.”
