Study day looks at acoustic noise and much more

Eden Learning’s first MR safety, quality and optimisation study day at the MIC in London attracted nearly 50 delegates, mainly radiographers and some medical  physicists.

The morning session, led by Dr Donald McRobbie from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust began with an overview of technological developments, leading into the bio-effects of static, time-varying and RF fields, exposure guidelines and practical advice on avoiding RF heating and peripheral nerve stimulation.  Professor David Price from University College Hospital gave an expert summary of the measurement and effects of acoustic noise, with the morning completed by a consideration of MRI and pregnancy.
