Two London hospitals upgrade to digital for mammography

Radiographer Christina Hadjimanolis and BMI King’s Oak Hospital imaging manager Nassar Hussain.
BMI Bishops Wood Hospital in Hillingdon and BMI The King’s Oak Hospital in Enfield have migrated to digital mammography for the first time, following the installation of Mammomat Inspiration systems from Siemens Healthcare. The new equipment replaces analogue systems and enables clinicians to rapidly view detailed high quality images at a low dose.
BMI King’s Oak Hospital imaging manager Nassar Hussain said: “The transition from analogue to digital mammography will help improve the care and expertise we are able to offer to our patients while improving the working environment for our team of highly dedicated imaging staff. The installation will also enable an ease of process, allowing our clinicians to spend more time with the patient, and has opened the door for additional digital installations at the department in the future.”
