Glenfield reduces gated SPECT acquisition times

Chief technologist Rachel Hodgkinson, specialist sister Lisa Ross, specialist nurse Katie Nelson, radiology service manager Judy Gilmore and medical physicist David Monk with Asteral’s implementation manager Lloyd Stewart and implementation project manager Arun Upil.

As part of its managed equipment service, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) has had a D-SPECT cardiac imaging system installed by Asteral.

Medical physicist David Monk said: “With the addition of the D-SPECT to our nuclear medicine service we are aiming to improve image quality and increase clinical throughput, while at the same time offering patients a more comfortable investigation.”

Supplied by Link Medical it is said to be the second of its kind to be installed in the UK.
