Increased tube rotation speed assists CT success rate

Royal Bournemouth Hospital has upgraded its Toshiba Aquilion One CT scanner to a Next Generation Aquilion.

CT and MRI superintendent radiographer Matthew Benbow said, “We perform more than 100 cardiac CT scans a month at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.  The previous Aquilion One gave us an amazingly robust technique for this application and the next generation will take this a step further.  The increase in tube rotation speed will offer even better temporal resolution, giving us close to 100 per cent success rate, even for patients in AF.”
