Ashes-winning England and Warwickshire cricket star Ashley Giles, MBE, joined Droitwich Spa mayor councillor Graham Beale, employees and local healthcare professionals from Alliance Medical and BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital to unveil the hospital’s an MRI and CT scanning centre.

The GE Healthcare 450W wide-bore 1.5T MRI scanner and Toshiba Aquilion Prime 80-slice CT scanner are part of a £2m partnership between BMI Healthcare and Alliance Medical.  The investment will allow the centre to increase the range of services it is able to provide to the local healthcare community and reduce waiting times.

Hospital executive director Jenny Liggitt said: “This is a massive boost for the hospital and its patients, putting the hospital at the cutting-edge of imaging technology.  We are delighted to be involved in the partnership with Alliance Medical and look forward to working together to develop a successful scanning centre for many years to come.”
