Cobalt’s PETCT meets challenge of research and diagnosis

HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, and Cobalt PETCT manager Roisin Dobbin-Stacey (right) meet one of Cobalt’s patients.
Princess Anne visited Cobalt’s imaging centre in Cheltenham to officially launch the charity’s state-of-the-art Siemens Healthcare Biograph mCT Flow Edge PETCT scanner. The Princess was joined by a number of civic guests and representatives from NHS England, industry partner’s volunteers, staff and fundraisers to mark the occasion.
Peter Sharpe, ceo, said: “We were honoured that Her Royal Highness visited the imaging centre. She demonstrated a good knowledge of recent advances in medical imaging and was keen to learn more about the improvements the scanner provides in reducing scanning times, reducing patient radiation dose and increasing patient comfort. She was also interested in the current and future research opportunities using the new equipment.”
