BIR launches south west regional branch
BIR honorary historian Professor Adrian Thomas, consultant in nuclear medicine and radiology Dr Brent Drake, event chair Dr Jenna Millington, defence consultant adviser in radiology Colonel Iain Gibb and BIR chief executive Jacqueline Fowler.
The British Institute of Radiology has launched its latest regional branch with an event in Plymouth celebrating the past, present and future of radiology. Attended by over 40 radiologists, trainees, radiographers and physicists, the event was chaired by branch chair and army radiology registrar Dr Jenna Millington.
After an introduction from BIR chief executive Jacqueline Fowler and Dr Millington, BIR honorary historian Professor Adrian Thomas gave a fascinating overview of the pioneers of radiology who realised the potential of “the new photography”, as radiology was then called.
