The urology department at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, has extended its prostate ultrasound service with the recent addition of a Hitachi Hi Vision Preirus ultrasound system.

Following a successful fundraising drive by Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chief of surgery and consultant urologist Mr Paul Carter more than £12,000 was raised for Love Your Hospital, the trust’s official charity, after he ran the challenging Medoc Marathon in France during September 2015.

Mr Carter said: “The new prostate template biopsy equipment will have a huge impact on the lives of the men we see in the clinic, improving the care we provide by making the whole process quicker and better for them.  Everyone who has kindly donated has helped us to provide the diagnostic procedure at St Richard’s Hospital, which saves our patients from having to travel further outside the area.”
