A wave of enthusiam follows RUH’s ultrasound addition

Consultant in emergency medicine Dr Nicola Jakeman, Philips Healthcare point-of-care sales specialist Victoria Potts, clinical fellow Dr Charlotte Hardy and specialist registrar Dr Katie Manning.

The emergency department at Royal United Hospital, Bath, has acquired a Philips Sparq mobile ultrasound system which will be used for point-of-care diagnosis in acute situations.

Clinical fellow and ultrasound lead for the emergency department Dr Charlotte Hardy said: “We are delighted as a department with our new ultrasound machine.  The Philips Sparq technology has far overtaken that of our older machine, so that image quality, ease-of-use and image storage have all reached a much higher standard.”
