At a follow-up visit by Vertec Scientific to check on how King’s College Hospital is getting along with Transflux after using it for a year are senior radiographer Peter Turner, Vertec product specialist Keith Lakin, CT superintendent Jennifer Fenwick, senior radiographers Adam Shaw, Nicole Braun, Maya Makan and Martin Young.
The two CT scanning suites at King’s examine more than 90,000 patients every year and the Transflux system has continued to meet expectations, says Vertec. “Contrast usage has been significantly reduced, with virtually no wastage and a dose down per patient to at least 75 per cent of that delivered by traditional methods,” adds the company. The resultant cost saving on consumables has been estimated at £46,000 in the past year.
