Accuracy required for podiatric surgery is aided by mini C-arm

Pictured at a training session on the Hologic Insight FD x-ray system supplied by Vertec Scientific to the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust at the Chelmsley Wood Primary Care Centre are staff nurses Amanda Arrowsmith and Maureen Duggan, theatre support assistant Jen Barratt, specialist registrar in podiatric surgery Michael Hutchby, consultant podiatric surgeons Harry Brown and Helen Milnes, theatre support assistant Christine Williams, lead nurse Vivien Barton and Vertec applications trainer Joy Thorpe.
The trust is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and the department of podiatric surgery has grown to become a nationally recognised centre for the treatment of foot conditions. During this development the department has moved from sharing facilities at Solihull Hospital to a custom built suite at Chelmsley Wood and in a recent development, acquired the Insight FD with funds provided by the Friends of Solihull Hospital.
